Cai Rang Floating Market Travel Guide

Cai Rang Floating Market, about 6km from Can Tho City , is the most famous and biggest floating market in theMekong Delta . From the early morning, the waterway becomes a maze of hundreds of boats packed with fruits, vegetables, plants, foods, etc... Sellers hang a sample of what they have from the top of a long pole so that buyers can see from a distance what they are selling.
 
Getting there
From Saigon , it takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Can Tho. Cai Rang floating market is situated about 6km from Can Tho by road or a 20 km loop by boat.
 
What to do?
Visiting Cai Rang Market, you will have great photographic opportunities as all manner of produce is traded from boats, communicate with the local, visit local houses and enjoy fresh fruits.
 
When to go?
Trips to Mekong Delta are suitable all year round but the best time is the monsoon from June to September.
 
Travel Tips
Almost floating markets start in the very early morning (from 5am) and finish before noon. Thus, to catch the liveliest and busiest scenery, you need to stay one night in Can Tho. Bring along camera, hat, sunscreen and insect repellant.
