Highlights: Thay Pagoda or Master’s Pagoda also known as Thien Phuc (Heavenly Blessing), is dedicated to Thich Ca Buddha (Sakyamuni, the historical Buddha).
In front of the pagoda is a small stage built on stilts in the middle of a pond; water-puppet shows are staged here during festivals. Follow the path around the outside of the main pagoda building, and take a steep 10-minute climb up to a beautiful smaller pagoda perched high on the rock.

Tay Phuong Pagoda or Pagoda of the West, consists of three single-level structures built in descending order on a hillock said to resemble a buffalo. The figures representing ‘the conditions of man’ are carved from jackfruit wood, many dating from the 18th century, and are the pagoda’s most celebrated feature. The earliest construction here dates from the 8th century. Take the steep steps up to the main pagoda building, then find a path at the back that loops down past the other two pagodas and wanders through the hillside village that surrounds the complex.

08:30 Am, Asia Top Travel guide pick up you from your hotel, travel to Thay and Tay Phuong Pagoda. The journey takes you pass by typical Vietnamese village. Enjoy seeing the rural scenery, rice fields medieval looking villages and age old farming techniques.
Visit Thay Pagoda, lying to the west of Hanoi in an area rich in history. Known in Vietnamese Chua Thay meaning Master's Pagoda, is dedicated to the 12th century teacher Tu Dao Hanh. On the main altar you can see a statue of the monk. The pagoda structure speaks for itself with its serene atmosphere and beauty. With over 100 statues filling the prayer halls, two 15th century bridges and the impressive water-puppet stage it is little wonder that this pagoda is so famous.
Tay Phuong lies just to the west, it offers beautiful architecture and ancient and unique sculptures. It was one of the first pagodas built in Vietnam. See the dragons and demons carved into the wooden roof.  We make a stop for a picnic-lunch where you please, in the temple gardens or around the pagoda itself. We drive back to Hanoi by 06:00 Pm
